This year, top watchmaker Felix Baumgartner and designer Martin Frei formed a partnership to challenge the watch design field for twenty years with the Urwerk brand.

The Urwerk EMC watch series can be better described as a “time instrument”, just calling it a watch seems too casual. Despite their mechanical dynamic timepieces, they have a unique futuristic style that is constructed to withstand the toughest conditions. In addition, they all come from Urwerk's “U Research” department, and the movement gives you a glimpse of how more advanced watch enthusiasts interact with timepieces.

EMC stands for electromagnetic control. Urwerk's first EMC, launched in 2013, has won wide acclaim, including two 2014 Geneva Advanced replica watches luxury Awards (GPHG) awards, one for the Innovation Award and the other for the Mechanical Exception Award. Known as the "Time Hunter," the 2016 edition brings improvements and additional features that enhance the wearer's relationship with his timepiece in ways never before possible.

The manual winding UR-EMC movement is designed and manufactured in-house by Urwerk. Looking at the movement from the back of the exhibition, it is clear that Time Hunter is not an ordinary timepiece. It is not uncommon to have a Swiss escapement operating at 4 Hz. In addition, the use of double barrels to provide a high 80-hour power reserve is commendable, but not without exception. However, frankly, a combination of tools is used to measure the accuracy and "health" of the watch, allowing the wearer to adjust the movement to their own personal lifestyle and environment.Jacob & co Astronomia Gambler AT150.40.RO.SD.A

Deviation testing of mechanical watches has been possible for a long time using equipment such as the moderately priced Timesgrapher and high-end Witschi machines. By the way, this is more expensive than many people are willing to spend on watches. It was not realized until the emergence of the Urwerk EMC Time Hunter, and even dare to try to incorporate the test function into the watch movement. Indeed, the dream of making these components into such a small shell is conceived by designers who have a strong interest in impossible things.

Urwerk skillfully reduces the timing rate monitor to millimeters. In order to power the timing unit, the folding crank is cleverly placed on the right side of the case. The crank needs to be released and rotated clockwise until the small indicator at 7 o'clock indicates sufficient power to begin processing. The resulting power is stored in a supercapacitor (this eliminates the need for a battery). The balance wheel made of anti-corrosion and diamagnetic "ARCAP" is connected to an optical sensor equipped with a transmitter and a receiver. When activated, the recorder records the vibration of the balance within 3 seconds. Within this three seconds, a 16,000,000 Hz electronic oscillator was used as the reference rate and compared to a 4 Hz balance. The onboard microcomputer recorded the minimum microsecond deviation from the standard, and the microcomputer calculated these differences to highly accurately represent the number of seconds lost or acquired per day. The result is briefly displayed on the dial between 10 and 11 o'clock.

Balance is the true beating heart of any mechanical watch movement and therefore requires regular monitoring to ensure optimum performance. Each swing of the balance in either direction is called "beat" and the amplitude is given by measuring the degree of rotation of each beat. The best performance of mechanical balances is between 220° and 280°. The position of the watch (ie, the vertical position and the horizontal position) can greatly change the amplitude, so the degree of change on the surface seems to be large. Either way to exit these parameters is likely to indicate that the watch needs repair.Tag Heuer Monaco CAW211Z.FC6470

Although it is clear that a lot of energy has been allocated to achieve this breakthrough function, it is gratifying that Urwerk has not neglected some finishing of the movement. These include Geneva ripples, shot peening and nailing.

Case and strap

A tightly woven black nylon strap that is secured with a pin and buckle to complement the masculine look of the case. While this very simple option offers comfort, durability and ultra-modern style, one of the more adventurous choices of the Time Hunter ceramic case is to pair it with a leather-lined green tweed strap. In the past, in the gorgeous Eastwood UR-110, tweed has been widely used by Urwerk. For those who like Time Hunter's contemporary design, pairing it with traditional textiles like tweed is a true anarchist.Richard Mille Bonbon replica Watches

This case is 43 mm wide, 51 mm long and 15.8 mm thick and will never be considered insignificant, but it is very small considering its internal technical capabilities. The initial version of the UR-EMC contains two available finishes. The 15 5-level satin-finished titanium/steel case provides a conservative backdrop for the technical appearance of the dial. The military-style green ceramic coating produced another 15 pieces. Since its first launch, Urwerk has launched Time Hunter X-Ray (end of 2016), with its hollowed-out dial taking the futuristic look to a whole new level.

Rareness is one of the key attributes pursued by watch collectors. With only 30 Urwerk EMC Time Hunter watches produced, these watches will remain as a select group of lucky owners. This is a considerable investment (starting at 110,000 Swiss francs (excluding tax)), but potential owners are buying top-notch traditional watchmaking, complemented by the feat of small-scale technical engineering.

At the 2016 Basel International Watch & Jewellery Show, I asked Felix Baumgartner, where Urwerk might go after creating this technological miracle. His confident and enticing answer is: "This is just the beginning!" Indeed, Urwerk has no signs of slowing down. Urwerk's founders and their support teams are constantly creating grand timepieces that stem from the dreams of timepieces, everyday inspiration and the true creative freedom of independence.http://www.cheapsalewatch.com
