The rain has had little mercy on the 2nd Test match betwixt England and Pakistan at the Rose Bowl in Southampton. Less than an hour's play was possible on Day 4 as it rained cats and dogs throughout the day. Pakistan would be disappointed that rain will prevent them from winning the Test series in the United Kingdom. At best, they can hope that they win the 3rd and final Test to square the series 1-all.
The fact that this Test will be drawn is a foregone conclusion. Both sides will be looking to gain some momentum going into the final Test match, provided that the rain Gods relent on Day 5 and provide the opportunity for some play. Even then, it is very optimistic to expect a full day's play. Our fingers are crossed! All we yearn for is some cricket!
