You are expecting too much from a consumer quality wireless radio. The best answer for your situation is usually to add additional bandwidth with more distinct channels.
And if I were the gamer, I would attach my computer to the router using a pair of the newest powerline AV2 MIMO units, take a look HERE for real world speeds -- several are getting very good speeds at distance with low latency. The wireless streamers would never again ruin a good game.
